Long freakin' day
Just got done with a 9-hour exam. If I failed it and have to take it again, then I'm quitting med school. Not like I'd get into any sort of residency with a failed score anyway.
People never tell you about the soul-sucking fatigue and general apathy that comes with the med school thing. Although, I never would've believed them if they had told me. That's why there's still doctors in the world.

Nails!
I did my nails a while ago and I think they turned out pretty cool. I got lots of compliments from classmates and staff in the hospital.
I used a base coat of UV color-changing sparkly polish and then drew on the design with a Sally Hansen nail art pen.

It's Britney, bitch!
Currently at the Britney concert at Summerfest. Yeah, that's right. Britney Spears. Don't mock, it's a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Plus, say what you will, I grew up with her songs and they're damn catchy.

So tired and bored
My first and, so far, only case of the day got cancelled 'cause the patient's diabetes was poorly controlled; her A1C was over 12 and her blood sugar was in the 300s. And now I am sitting in the staff lounge, literally falling asleep, waiting for my preceptor to come back and get me. This sucks. I like the VA so much more than Children's right now. There's not even models here for me to practice intubations.
Must. Stay. Awake.
I'm not gonna post about Japan 'cause that's depressing and I think everyone's already said what I want to say. I've already donated to arashi_on's fundraising event and I might donate a little more later. I'm just really poor now, having just paid tuition and $1500 for exams. Stay strong, Japan!

Blizzard 2011
The actual patio. As you can see, the chairs are almost completely covered.
Path leading from the med school.
And this is directly in my path getting home. I took the pic at eye level (and I'm 5'8").

Snow day!
There are 3-5 ft snowbanks in the Milwaukee area. I'm assuming all the schools are closed if they shut down the freeways. The med school is closed, that I know for sure, and the med school never closes.
But guess who had to walk through thigh-deep snow to get to work today? Me. 'Cause patients need taking care of and hospitals don't close. I have a surgery scheduled for 3:00 this afternoon that's gonna take at least 3 hours. It's gonna be a long day.

It won't end
I want to leave for the movie early but this Intersession will NOT end. Please, people, stop talking and let me go. I've got a 2-hour drive ahead of me!

2011!!
Happy New Year, f-list!!!! And happy birthday, Ko-chan.
Even though for a lot of you, it's no longer Jan. 1st.
I just got back from the Chicago Bulls game! We won and I got a free Big Mac out of it. The last Bulls game I was at was in the 90's, when Jordan was still playing. Oh, nostalgia.

Mitsuwa
Totally went Mitsuwa for lunch today, bought a magazine and then I heard Arashi playing in the store. It made me happy. Also heard Utada Hikaru, which made me reminisce about her concert.
Now for more shopping.

MCW hates me
So I literally just found out that I have a mandatory meeting on Jan 20th from 8-5. The day of the Gantz showing. I'm gonna be booking it to Illinois that night. I might even miss the first few mins of the movie. Damn you, MCW! Why couldn't you give me this one afternoon off?

Hair
Damn it, Matsujun, stop chopping off all your hair. Have you ever heard of a trim? You don't have to completely change your style every time your hair grows out. I loved the Natsuniji look.
Same goes for you, Sho.
Ohno gets away with it 'cause he's Ohno.

Gantz
So I bought my ticket for Gantz last night for the Marcus Cinema in Addison, IL. Never heard of the place? Me, neither. I just really wanted to avoid having to drive into Chicago during rush hour. I also despise trying to find parking in the city. But yes, I'll be driving ~2 hours to watch a movie. And as painful as it will be to watch it dubbed, I can't turn down the opportunity to watch Nino on the big screen.
