Oh my god, my classes are running together on me!
I'm currently studying for the bio quiz I have in like 20 mins. I'm reading about splicing. It's talking about how "the 2'OH of the conserved A in the branch site" triggers the reaction and "acts like a nucleophile to atttack the phosphoryl group of the conserved G in the 5' splice site". Then it says that "this is an SN2 reaction". We just learned about SN2 reactions in orgo last week. The book went on to mention that the 5' exon is the leaving group but then turns into a nucleophile and I think that's when my brain broke. I get enough of this in orgo; don't need it in MCB as well.

Also, the magnetic fields I'm learning in physics is being used in NMR for orgo lab.
