I quickly sped through this week's episode (raw) and I just wanted to say...OMG, I want to know what's going to happen!!!!! I want it to be next week already. I also cannot wait for subs, but it'll only make me yearn for the finale even more. I love Kageyama.

My hotel room in Peoria, IL doesn't have channels like Lifetime or Disney, but it gets NHK. Weird and random. It's really disorienting hearing Japanese coming from the TV that I didn't download.

I feel like I've been on hiatus without meaning to. It's been kinda hectic this month. I've gone on 4 interviews so far and I have another one tomorrow. And right now, I'm really stressed because I haven't had any more interview offers come in. At this point, I'm really afraid that I won't match for a residency for next year.

But on to more happier, fangirly things. )

WTF?
Now the fan on my laptop is broken. I think my laptop is slowly dying, one piece at a time. And now I'm trying to find a replacement fan assembly for cheap, and getting one of my friends to help replace it for me. Gah, like I need this right now! Nothing in my life is going right.

Bad news: my laptop battery is dead. Like, DEAD. It gives me an error message that states that the battery cannot recharge and that I should get a new battery. It happened suddenly and randomly. Granted, the battery was 3 years old and the life was slowly but surely shortening, but still, at least it could still function. Now my laptop has become a desktop; without the adapter, my laptop shuts off completely.

Good news: I bought a new replacement battery for $23. And since it's off of Amazon and I already bought an Amazon gift card off of [livejournal.com profile] katmillia (thank you!), I ultimately only paid $0.48 for it. So I will (hopefully) have a brand new battery with fresh life within 2 weeks.

What annoys me is that apparently Lenovo has had battery recalls and replacements for issues exactly like what I have. Only the recall expired? I don't understand why. A free battery would've been nice, Lenovo! Especially since I'm pretty sure batteries aren't supposed to completely DIE without warning overnight.

Holy Jesus, they're making a live-action Rurouni Kenshin. That was one of my favorite anime and manga back in the days. My username came from an episode of Rurouni Kenshin. The only names I recognize from the cast are Sato Takeru as Kenshin and Aoi Yuu as Megumi. I have literally not seen Sato Takeru act since Princess Princess D, which is not a good drama to judge acting on. And I personally think that Aoi Yuu is too young, innocent and baby-faced for Megumi. But we'll see.

Please, Japan, don't ruin this classic for me. I know that there are so many ways you can, but try your hardest not to.

I now kinda wanna rewatch episodes of RK. Oro!

Can you tell I'm trying to avoid doing any work?

Win!
You know that 9-hour exam I took about a month ago? I passed! *does happy dance* Yay, I don't have to quit med school. I didn't do as well as I would have liked but it wasn't horrible, either. So I'll just be happy and relieved for now and focus on the next exam.

Also got an interview offer for an Anesthesia residency yesterday. Double-yay!

I also finally got to see an open heart surgery today. It was surprisingly uneventful, which was good for both the patient, surgeons and anesthesiologists. And it turned out that even as a student on Anesthesia this month, I am not safe from pimping from attending surgeons. But I managed to answer all the questions correctly so I didn't look too stupid. W00t!

And one of my residents told me that my attending has been hearing really good things about me, and chances are, I will get a good letter of recommendation from this rotation. Also, got let out by 3:30 today, which was awesome!

So yeah, it's been a good week.

On the flip side, I've missed dinner for the past 3 days 'cause I've just been so exhausted by the time I get home that I just pass out at like 6 PM. And since I rarely eat breakfast because I'm always rushing to the hospital really early, there are times, like today, where I'm standing during a 6-hour surgery with no food in my system for over 24 hours. Not good for my health, I'm sure.

I feel that with every year, my birthday gets less and less exciting. At least there's no exams to study for this year. And well, sharing a birthday with Arashi is always a little special to me. It was a pretty nice day. Interesting cases at work, not too busy, I was let out early, nice dinner with friends. And now, with only 1.5 hours left in the day, I might go to sleep early. Goodnight.

Oh, and happy 12th birthday, Arashi. May we celebrate more birthdays together in the years to come.

Just got done with a 9-hour exam. If I failed it and have to take it again, then I'm quitting med school. Not like I'd get into any sort of residency with a failed score anyway.

People never tell you about the soul-sucking fatigue and general apathy that comes with the med school thing. Although, I never would've believed them if they had told me. That's why there's still doctors in the world.
