Nino likes fixing bones?
So I went to a specialty/subspecialty dinner today held by all the minority groups on campus, meaning that the doctors were all minorities. I sat at a table with 2 anesthesiologists and 1 orthopedic surgeon. As soon as I saw the name ID on the surgeon's white coat, I mentally laughed. His name: Dr. Ninomiya. XD I'm sorry, but it's just hilarious to me. And there's also another doctor at my school whose first name is Nino. Nino is everywhere!

Oh, and I got my H1N1 vaccine today! Yay for no swine flu this season! Unless, of course, the virus mutates or something, which is always possible.

I'm impressed you didn't laugh out loud. I'm fairly certain I would have ^^;

I think the part of my brain that went "it'd be rude to laugh and then awkward to explain why you laughed" won over the "omg, he's Dr. Ninomiya" part of my brain. But that didn't prevent me from having hilarious thoughts in my head the entire time I was sitting at the table.

I think I would feel compelled to feed him, just on general principle, imagining that on the other side of the world, Nino was grimacing for no particular reason ^_^

Oddly enough, he had a plateful of food in front of him but he didn't seem to eat a lot of it. Could be that he was talking a lot. Or the Ninomiya gene strikes again.

Oh, and he totally made a snarky comment during the panel we had afterward. I laughed, as did a lot of people 'cause it was funny, but I laughed for a completely different reason.

I am inordinately amused that some things seem so cosmically right ^_^

I hope you won't accidentally address him as "Nino" instead of Dr. Ninomiya. xD

I kinda wonder if he lets people call him "Dr. Nino". 'Cause it would be somewhat hard to pronounce for people not used to it. When he was introducing himself, he "Americanized" the pronunciation of his name. But yeah, just calling him "Nino" would probably be a big no-no.

Oh that's awesome! I love it when things like that happen.

(Urgh stupid flu virus always mutating... grrrr)

It totally made my day. I'm still laughing about it in my head. XD

Freakin' microbes and their mutation rates. *grumblegrumble*

Lol, I always find it hard to keep a straight face in those situations. Once I had a class with a boy named Longbottom and I almost burst out laughing when roll was called on the first day.

I probably would've laughed out loud. Once I had a prescription written by a Dr. Matsumoto. Everything reminds me of Arashi nowadays.

I still haven't got my H1N1 vaccine. There were a couple of clinics for high-risk groups, but everyone's lining up for a shot. They're scared after the death of a healthy, active 13-year-old boy. I've seen a few scripts for Tamiflu these past couple of days; doctors are assuming it's H1N1 if patients are experiencing flu symptoms. The situation here is insane. If this keeps up, it's a matter of time before the virus mutates and develops resistance to antivirals.
