China vacation, Part III
I'm gonna stop really going in order of the events now 'cause my time in Chongqing kinda just squished together into one big clump. Feifei, this might make you more angry at me or less; don't know for sure. You have been warned.

Driving to lunch today, all I could think of was the great hotpot I had in China. If you don't know what a hotpot is, it's basically where you have this pot of seasoned soup boiling in front of you and you put in whatever the heck you want into the pot to eat. It is soooooooooooooooo good. I went to the world's best hotpot place for lunch one day. How do I know it's the world's best? Well, if you want good hotpot, you go to China, where it originated. For the best hotpot in China, you go to the Sichuan province, where spicy food is a way of life. For the best hotpot in Sichuan, you have to go to Chongqing. And for the best in Chongqing, you to The Little Swan, where I had lunch. Sooooooooooo good. And it's a very fancy, aesthetically pleasing place to eat. Kudos to my dad's teacher who invited us there. Good choice.

Now, that was a nice eating experience. On another outing, something not so great happened. My mom's high school/college friends invited us out to dinner and that was fine and such. I got to the restaurant and my newly-bought shoe breaks; one of the buckle came straight out. Chinese quality shoes, what are ya gonna do?. My dad and I wandered the streets around the restaurant for like 30 minutes looking for a shoe repair place. We found one not too far away but the actually shoe repair guy was away shopping for stuff. In his place, he put in charge his son, who was just so abnoxious. He had such a crappy attitude that I just wanted to smack him. I didn't. We went searching some more and found another place. It cost me like 2 RMB to get it fixed and only about 1 minute. Good deal, I'd say.

That wasn't the bad part, though. We went back and started dinner. My dad wanted me to take a picture of everyone at the table and handed me the digital camera, but something was wrong with the memory card so it wouldn't take. My dad told me to fix it (as if I know how to do that), but instead I accidentally wiped the whole memory card clean. Crap. I did fix the memory card, though. Anyway, I got pretty depressed 'cause the first week of vacation photos were on that, including my graduation pictures. Can you say "FUCK!"? So yeah, that was great. Luckily, my grandparents and my dad took that memory card to a photo developing place the day before and there was a chance that they still had everything saved on their computer. We got back home around 11 PM and went to the photo place, which was closed, but we knew the guy and called his home afterwards. He said that if it was downloaded within the last three days, there was a big chance that the pictures were still there. I was so relieved, you have no idea. And the next day, we got a CD burned with all the pictures on it. Whew, I got lucky there. ^_^
