People!
So...I'm at an Internet cafe right now. I just got my ass kicked in Warcraft but I expected it that. Now I know why I never wanted to play these games in the first place: they're boring. Sam shows no mercy in this game.

Sam, Ito, Fu, Karen, Helen, Sarah and I all went to Woodfield for the day. Sam bought a PSP and I needed to buy a present for my boss. I ended up buying her Godiva chocolates. There was an interesting moment during lunch where I spilled my glass of water (all over Karen). So the waiter came back with water in sippy cup, just for me. It was hilarious. I still have it and will keep it for a while.

I think we're going to do karaoke later on.

Note to self: must kill Sam. Just because. I'm sure Fu, Karen and Sarah would agree and would probably help me in the deed.

This is why Warcraft III is to be played on the Internet, where you will face unskilled foes and the winning team will be determined by which side has the fewest players disconnecting.

Unless you were playing some other sort of Warcraft. Ah, for the days when Orcs and Humans were mirror images.

Yeah, apparently it was called Starcraft. Go figure. =P

DotA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was totally necessary. And also, I'm jealous!

Arina wouldn't make a dota video.

And you wouldn't let me kill you in that game.

I am confused... What's DotA or a dota video? Anita = clueless.

DotA stands for "Defense of the Ancients"

DotA is a serious and extensive modification of classical Warcraft III that instead of commanding entire legions of troops, the player, in turns micromanages a single unit - their hero, adding an RPG element to the game and subtracting all ennui aspects.

The refulgent Walter Lu first fabricated the acclaimed "DotA video" in China on top of the Great Wall. Jay Chou is also known to have created a DotA video. The video consists of the actor (to date, no actresses have performed a DotA video) bellowing "DotA" as loud as they can muster, making a sharp cacophony, albeit clear and without caesura from a location of great altitude.

Ah, I see I see. Those comments make so much more sense now.

I popped my WC3 CD in a few weeks ago for the hell of it, and joined a DotA game, wherein I was almost immediately flamed to hell for being "feeder" (aka inexperienced player who serves only to fill opponents' XP bars). I haven't tried any multiplayer WC3 since.

People are dicks. In China, we had a n00b game set up ... even though some of the most experience people were playing and raped us.

Reply to other one:
I've played Warcraft III only a few times before and it was years ago. I totally forgot about Heroes in the actual game. I figured that it used the map editor, but they made lots of different items, or are those already in the game?
[identity profile] g4bz0r.livejournal.com on August 5th, 2005 10:55 am (UTC)
They made the items using map editing tools included with WC3, just like they made the heroes.
[identity profile] g4bz0r.livejournal.com on August 2nd, 2005 08:39 am (UTC)
also, I don't think the modification was that extensive. From what I can tell the units are all made using functionality included in the WC3 map editor.

Also, the RPG element is already there in WC3 - DotA strips the game of the RTS element so players can focus on the RPG element and enjoy it more fully.

it's interesting to note we were playing STARCRAFT ;)
And it's not that I show no mercy... it's that no one attacked me XD
and and... DEATH BAD :(
[identity profile] anoudegozaruna.livejournal.com on August 1st, 2005 01:23 pm (UTC)
Was it Starcraft? Eh. They're all the same to me. And no one attacked you because you amassed an army and went on a rampage.
