For myth discussion last week, we were supposed to have read the first 8 books of The Iliad. I didn't because I've read it before and it really is quite boring for a book written about a war. Anyway, I pretty much just went through the SparkNotes summaries to brush my memory on it. Come discussion time, my TA asks us to write about a conversation between Hector and Andromache in Book 6 for our quiz. Apparently it was about how Andromache was trying to convince Hector not to fight anymore and how Hector reasoned his way out of it. I honestly had no idea what they actually said so I BSed my way through it, writing about honor, glory, destiny, etc. Years of reading Greek and Roman myth really paid off 'cause I found out that I'm one of only 8 people who passed and thus is exempt from the quiz/recitation for this week. And surprisingly, the movie Troy came in handy, too.
I rock.
In other news, I got a solid A on my MVC test and I failed my physiology one. Greek and Roman myth and intro to Japanese culture are still pending, though I found out I only got one question wrong for the myth lecture test.
