No more seminars!
I had to go to 2 seminars today and they were both loaded with organic chemistry. Nothing but organic chemistry. Overflowing with organic chemistry. My brain wanted to jump out of my head and run away crying.

Today, my boss (who's still in England) scheduled me to work with liver tissue. She wanted me to mix a milliliter of tissue with 3 mL of 50/50 AcN/MeOH. Do you have any idea how thick and slushy homogenized liver tissue is? It has the consistency of a Courier milkshake; well, thicker than that. I certainly couldn't get the damn mL with a normal pipette. I managed with huge electronic one that had a lot of sucking power. It was not easy.

Dude! It totally is slushy. I think out of all the organs, it's the thickest, or at least the bloodiest.

Isn't it? I haven't had a chance to look at the other organs yet but liver has got to be at the top for slushiest. I get to work with brain tomorrow. Ooooooooo, liquified brain.

Anita's homogenized liver tissue brings all the boys to the yard?

Sorry, that's the first thing that popped into my head when I saw "milkshake". :/

It's not my homogenized liver tissue. That would imply I'm dead or missing part of my liver. And that would just not be pleasant.
